in the State of California. Attorney McKenna is a member of the
California Bar Association, San Bernardino County Bar Association,
and the California Public Defender’s Association.
Attorney McKenna has been a very influential,
powerful attorney in the state of California for decades. He began
his experience as a Deputy District Attorney in 1970. In 1972,
Attorney McKenna switched to the Public Defender’s Office
and became a Deputy Public Defender.
Attorney McKenna was a San Bernardino County
JUDGE from 1977-1980. While on the bench, he established the First
Offender DUI Program for treatment and prevention.
The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors
was honored to have Mr. McKenna in the early 1980’s as the
THIRD DISTRICT SUPERVISOR. While serving the District, he acted
as the Fiscal Committee Chairman and was appointed to the Citizens
Advisory Council on Mental Health.
Finally, Attorney McKenna was sought out
by the County to become THE San Bernardino County PUBLIC DEFENDER.
As the Head of the entire County, Mr. McKenna directed the activities
of all the Public Defenders in the County of San Bernardino. He
served there for over 16 years.
The Juvenile Court uses Mr. McKenna as a
Judge Pro Tem. He also lends his knowledge to Loma Linda University
as a Family Law Lecturer.
Finally, Attorney McKenna was the co-author
of the book California Criminal Law Procedures and Practices,
Second Edition.
